Love, Mission Kids

This Sunday, we’re discovering…

Main Point: Jesus is amazing!

Bible Story: Catching Fish - Luke 5:1-10

What you do

  1. Watch the worship and story video together (and learn the verse of the month!!)

  2. Talk about each of the questions to keep the conversation going

  3. Pray together!

  4. Make it - check out our suggested art activity.

  5. Move it - to have some fun, move around, and reinforce the big idea!

Memory Verse

Everyone (arms out)

who heard him (hands behind ears)

was amazed (hands around eyes like binoculars)

Luke 2:47 (hold hands like an open book)

God gave us the words of the Bible to show us who He is!

Practice the verse a few times! In Mission Kids, we often practice saying it different ways, like reallllyyyy sllowwwllyyyy, SUPER LOUD, or with a roar!

Talk it through together

  1. What were Peter and his friends doing in the story? (They were fishing)

  2. Were they catching any fish? (No)

  3. When Jesus came, what did He tell Peter to do? (Jesus told Peter to cast out his nets again.)

  4. What do you think Peter thought when Jesus told him to cast out his nets again?

  5. What happened when Peter and his friends threw out their nets again? (They caught so many fish they filled two boats.)

  6. Who is amazing? (Jesus is amazing!)

Pray Together

Before you pray, ask your kiddo what their favorite of Jesus’ miracles is (examples: calming storms, healing people, multiplying bread and fish). Then pray together using the prayer below or your own.

“Dear God, You really are amazing! Jesus did so many things while he was on Earth, so we know that he is your Son. Thank you for (say a favorite miracle), and thank you for doing miracles in our lives today, like giving us Jesus to be our friend forever. In Jesus’ name, amen.”
