Bible Story: Armor of God - Ephesians 6:10-17
What you do
Watch the worship and story video together (and learn the verse of the month!!)
Talk about each of the questions to keep the conversation going
Pray together!
Make it - check out our suggested art activity.
Move it - to have some fun, move around, and reinforce the big idea!
Verse of the Month
Trust in the Lord (point up)
with all, (arms out wide)
your heart (hands over heart)
Proverbs 3:5 (open hands like a book)
God gave us the words of the Bible to show us who He is!
Practice the verse a few times! In Mission Kids, we often practice saying it different ways, like sqeaky, SUPER LOUD, or with a roar!
Talk It Out
What kind of armor does God give us to put on? (Faith, hope, truth, the Holy Spirit!)
What is one way we can trust God? (Pray when we are scared, etc.)
How do we know we are going God’s way? (By talking to Him or reading the Bible!)
Besides the “helmet, breastplate, and shield,” what else do we have to help us follow God? (The Bible)
Why is the Bible important? (It tells who God is, how to follow Him, and how much He loves us.)
What is your favorite piece of armor?
Pray Together
Before you pray, make a list of things that protect us and help keep us safe. When you are done, pray together using the one below or your own.
“Dear God, thank you for all of the things we have that protect us from getting hurt. Things like (read the list you made). Most of all, thank you for the special armor you give us to trust you and go your way. Please help (kiddos name) and I to trust you with all of our hearts so we can stand strong. We love you, God. In Jesus’ name, amen.”
MAKE IT // ART ACTIVITY
What you need: Activity page (view/print below or grab from your July Church Kit!), glue stick, scissors, and crayons or markers.
What you do:
Give your kiddo a soldier and all the pieces of armor and work together to color them!
Help your kiddo cut out their armor pieces and glue them to the soldier.
Remind your kiddo, “With the armor of God, we can always remember that Jesus is our friend, God’s way is perfect, and to always trust God. We can trust God and go His way because God’s way is the best way!”
MOVE IT // ACTIVE ACTIVITY
What you need: No materials needed
What you do:
Sing the song, “Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes,” together.
When you are done, talk about the clothes you wear on those body parts.
YOU DID IT!
Continue the conversation all week by reminding each other of all the ways that we can trust God!
