Colossians new normal title graphic.jpg

The apostle Paul wrote a letter to the church in a city called Colossae and told them all about how choosing to follow Jesus meant some things would never be the same again.

The way you think, love, talk, see the world, and view others starts to take on the very nature of Jesus, and the newfound freedom and joy that results will be your NEW NORMAL!

Getting Started

If your group is meeting online, send a reminder text and/or email with the link to everyone 15 minutes before your group starts. Be sure that you log in a couple of minutes before the official start time.

If your group is meeting in-person, send a reminder text and/or email with your phone number the morning of the group meeting.

Once everyone has arrived… or almost everyone, some people will be late… welcome everybody, thank them for coming and share a little bit about they study and how group meetings will work.

 Tips for the First Meeting

  • If your group is online…

    • You need to decide whether to ask people to mute their microphones when they're not speaking. Leaving microphones unmuted during the discussion makes the conversation more free-flowing, but if it's a large group or someone is in a noisy environment, you may need to ask participants to mute them unless they're talking. You can also mute people's microphones if needed.

  • If any of your group members don’t already know each other…

    • Start with introductions, going around in a “circle” asking each person to introduce themselves.

      • You might ask people to share their name, where they live, how they got connected to Mission, and maybe another fun fact: what they do for a living, an interesting (non-political) book or article that they read recently, their favorite hobby, or favorite meal to have delivered.
