Friday 11/11

Read Philippians 2:9-11

  • (verse 9) For Jews, the name above every name was the name for God, which many still avoid writing or saying in fear of disrespecting Him.  While Jesus took our form by becoming a man, what can we do to make sure we don’t take Him for granted but instead give Him due respect?

  • (verse 11) What difference does it make to our lives that Jesus is Lord?  For example, how should it move us to respond to 2:1-8?

  • This is a good point to press the “pause” button and consider the deep truths so far in chapter 2:  Jesus is God and man, Jesus is Exalted, God is expressed as Father, Son and Spirit, Jesus died in our place on the cross, Jesus is Lord … What questions or insights do you have about Philippians 2:1-11?

9 Therefore, God elevated him to the place of highest honor and gave him the name above all other names, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and every tongue declare that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
