This Sunday, we’re discovering…

Big Idea: God’s Way is Perfect!!

Bible Story: Josiah - 2 Chronicles 34

What you do

  1. Watch the worship and story video together (and learn the verse of the month!!)

  2. Talk about each of the questions to keep the conversation going

  3. Pray together!

  4. Make it - check out our suggested art activity.

  5. Move it - to have some fun, move around, and reinforce the big idea!

Verse of the Month

God’s way (point up)

is perfect! (two thumbs up)

2 Samual 22:31 (hold hands like an open book)

God gave us the words of the Bible to show us who He is!

Practice the verse a few times! In Mission Kids, we often practice saying it different ways, like sqeaky, SUPER LOUD, or with a roar!

Talk It Out

  1. Who was the king in our story today? (King Josiah)

  2. What was different about Josiah? (He was a kid.)

  3. How did King Josiah want to lead his people? (He wanted to do what was right.)

  4. What did the book that Josiah found say? (That God’s way is perfect. That God loves us and wants what’s  best for us.)

  5. What did Josiah do after he read the book? (He decided to go God’s way, and he told his people to go God’s way too.)

  6. Even though you are a kid you can still tell others about God’s way. What is an example of going God’s way? (share toys, help others etc.)

  7. Do you have to use words to tell others about God’s way? (No, you can show others by going God’s way.)

  8. How does it make you feel to go God’s way?

Pray Together

Before you pray, make a list of people that you can tell about how perfect God’s way is. When you are done pray together using the one below or your own.

“Dear God, thank You for teaching us that your way is perfect. Help us be brave like King Josiah and tell (read your list) that Your way is perfect, because it’s true! God’s way is perfect! We love You, God. In Jesus’ name, amen.”

MAKE IT // ART ACTIVITY

wk 4 Craft.png

What you need: Activity Pages (view/print below or grab from your May Church Kit) and tape

What you do:

  1. Decorate the scroll with your stickers

  2. Tape the craft sticks on the ends of the paper so that you can roll it up.

  3. When you are done remind your kiddo, “Josiah helped others go God’s way, just like God wants us to do. God’s way is perfect.”

MOVE IT // ACTIVE ACTIVITY

What you need: no materials needed!

What you do:

  1. This game works best with more than two people, so get the whole family involved!!

  2. The “King” stands on one side of the room, and everyone else stands on the other side.

  3. The King gives the first person a number and a movement to do. (Ex: Becky, jump three times)

  4. Before that person moves, they have to say, “King, May I?” The King says “Yes, you may.”

  5. Then they do the movements!

  6. (If they forget to say, “King, may I,” they have to go back to the start!)

  7. Keep the numbers under five and repeat the activity until someone reaches the other side of the room.

Examples of movements: Jumps, baby steps, marching, one leg hops, giant steps, walk on tippy toes.

YOU DID IT!

Continue the conversation all week by reminding each other of all the ways that God’s way is perfect!
