This Sunday, we’re discovering…

Main Point: Jesus Helps Me When I’m Tempted

Bible Story:  The Temptation of Jesus (Mark 1:12-13; Matthew 4:1-11)

WHAT YOU DO

1. Watch the video! Sing and dance along to the worship songs, watch the Bible story, and connect the big idea to real life!

2. Talk about each of the questions to keep the conversation going

3. Do the activity together to have some fun and reinforce the big idea!

Question of the day! (all ages!)

• Go around the room and ask the question: “If you had to eat only one food for the rest of your life, what would it be and why?”

Questions for 1st-3rd Graders

1. How long was Jesus in the wilderness?

2. How many times did the devil tempt Jesus?

3. What did Jesus say each time he was tempted?

4. How does Jesus help you when you’re tempted?

Questions for 4th-5th Graders

1. How many times did the devil tempt Jesus?

2. What did Jesus do each time He was tempted?

3. Read Psalm 25:4-5. “Lord, help me learn your ways. Show me how you want me to live. Guide me and teach me your truths. You are my God, my Savior. You are the one I have been waiting for.”

4. How can you follow the path God has for you?

5. How does Jesus help you when you’re tempted?

3. DO IT // ACTIVITIES

FAMILY CHALLENGE - Tabletop Football

This week’s family challenge is a game of tabletop football! Use two 4.25”x11” pieces of paper to make two paper footballs! (Get folding instructions here!)

Then split into teams and set up two “Touchdown Zones'' at opposite ends of a table! Each team will take turns flicking the paper football across the table to try and land in the touchdown zone!

The first team to get 5 points wins! Keep track of the winning team and give each winning team member 5 POINTS!
