Go around the room and ask the question: “What emoji describes your week this last week? Why did you choose that emoji?”
Questions for 1st-3rd Graders
What was wrong with the man that came to Jesus?
Why were people so amazed with Jesus?
Did Jesus become more or less popular after this?
How can we help share the powerful message of Jesus with others?
Questions for 4th-5th Graders
What was wrong with the man that came to Jesus?
Who did the man say that Jesus was?
What happened to Jesus’ popularity after this event?
Read Mark 1:27-28. The people were amazed. They asked each other, ‘What is happening here? This man is teaching something new, and he teaches with authority! He even commands evil spirits, and they obey him.’ So the news about Jesus spread quickly everywhere in the area of Galilee.”

ACTIVITY 1 - Spot the Difference
Lots of social media platforms allow us to share pictures with people that we care about! Pictures can be powerful.
Use the printable (print below or grab from your January Church Kit!) to look at some fun photos and spot the difference!
For even more fun: challenge someone to see who can spot the differences the quickest!
ACTIVITY 2 - Text Message Story

write messages in the speech bubbles. You can also draw a funny picture as a GIF message, or you can use emojis to write the story.
Imagine you were in the crowd when Jesus performed this miracle. Write the story from today as if this message was between two friends. What would it say?
